Wind Caves Hike
Located about 5 miles from Logan, UT in Logan Canyon, the Wind Caves Hike is a relatively short hike that ends at the Wind Caves. The caves are quite a beautiful site to see and offer amazing views. If you’re looking for a quick Saturday hike with the family, then you’ll definitely want to visit the Wind Caves.
Locked In Escape Room
If you’ve never experienced an escape room before, prepare for a challenge. Given a time limit, a group of players use the elements of the room around them to solve a series of puzzles that eventually leads to your escape from the room. The Locked in Escape Room in Logan, UT does a great job and is a perfect family evening activity.
Logan Tabernacle
The Logan Tabernacle is a site for many local celebrations and festivities. You can take a free tour through the tabernacle, and in the summer, there are concerts every day at noon. This historical building has a beautiful organ, so don’t miss an opportunity to hear the amazing acoustics inside.
Zootah
Originally called the Willow Park Zoo, Zootah is located on the south end of Logan near the Cache County Fairground. The zoo is not the biggest zoo around, but it certainly is a fun little zoo to visit with the family. If you’re looking for somewhere in the summer to go with the kids, definitely pay Zootah a visit.
Hardware Ranch
During wintertime, elk come down into the canyon near Hyrum. If you venture up the canyon to Hardware Ranch, you can take a sleigh ride through the massive elk herd. If you have never seen an elk up close, be prepared, they are HUGE.
Hyrum State Park
Hyrum State Park is a state park and reservoir in Cache County. You can fish, boat, camp, picnic, hike and swim at Hyrum Lake State Park. This is one of our favorite places to visit on the weekends, especially when we are in the mood for a barbecue or picnic.
Logan Aquatic Center
With 2 water slides, a kiddie pool area and a massive general pool, Logan Aquatic Center is the place to be in the summertime. Keep in mind that the pool will not open if temperatures are below 65 degrees. One nice feature of the Logan Aquatic Center is that if you show a photo ID, you can get life jackets for free.
Daughters of the Utah Pioneers Museum
Although the museum is small, there is a lot of interesting history about women pioneers and their role in crossing the plains. The Daughters of the Utah Pioneers Museum (DUP Museum for short) is well worth the visit. Don’t miss their little gift shop!
Logan River Trail
Located within the Logan City Trail System, Logan River Trail is a wonderful trail for a summertime stroll. The trail is paved and is a tree lined path, giving plenty of shade for those hot summer days. If you’re looking for a nice relaxing walk, especially in the evening, then give Logan River Trail a shot.
American West Heritage Center
The American West Heritage Center is a farm with pioneer homes and buildings, as well as people there portraying pioneer life. There are plenty of activities at the Heritage Center including panning for gold, riding a train and milking a cow. This is a great place to go if you’re looking for an old-timey experience.
